Product Description

     Anhydrous calcium chloride is white porous frit or particles. Easy to deliquesce. The melting point is 782°C, the density is 2.15g/cm3, and the boiling point is higher than 1600°C. It is easily soluble in water and releases a lot of heat. It is also soluble in ethanol and acetone. The most common calcium chloride hexahydrate is CaCl2·6H2O, which is a colorless trigonal crystal, easily deliquescent, has a bitter and salty taste, has a density of 1.71g/cm3, and is soluble in crystal water at Chemicalbook 29.92°C. When heated to 30°C, four molecules of water are lost to form dihydrate (CaCl2·2H2O), which is a white porous and hygroscopic solid. Continued heating can generate monohydrate. When the temperature is higher than 200°C, it completely loses water and becomes highly hygroscopic anhydrous calcium chloride. Calcium chloride reacts with ammonia to form ammonia compound CaCl2·8NH3.

Usuage

1. Calcium chloride is used in brine, road ice melting agent and desiccant used in refrigeration equipment. Because it easily absorbs water and deliquesces in the air, anhydrous calcium chloride should be stored in a sealed container. Calcium chloride and its hydrates and solutions have important application values in many aspects such as food manufacturing, building materials, medicine and biology.
2. Anhydrous calcium chloride is a commonly used dehydrating agent and desiccant in industrial production and laboratories (but it cannot dry ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and Chemicalbook alcohol). It is mainly used for drying gas, petroleum, organic solvents, etc.
3. In the inorganic industry, it is used as raw material for making metallic calcium and various calcium salts.
4. Calcium chloride is also used as a sizing agent for textiles, a water purifier, an antifreeze agent, a food preservative, and a road cleaner. Mix CaCl2·6H2O and ice at a ratio of 1.44:1 and use it as a refrigerant in the laboratory. It is also an important refrigerant in the refrigeration industry and can obtain a low temperature of -54.9°C.
