It is commonly used as photocatalyst, nickel-iron battery cathode material, etc. in traditional industries. Nickel oxide is used as a pigment in ceramics and glass. In the enamel industry, it is used as a sealing agent and colorant for enamel glaze. In the ceramic industry, it is used as a raw material for colorants. It is used as raw material for nickel-zinc ferrite in the production of magnetic materials. In the glass industry, it is used as a colorant for brown glass and picture tube glass shells, and is also a raw material for manufacturing nickel salts and nickel catalysts.
