Product Description

     Nickel chloride is green or grass green monoclinic prism crystal at room temperature. It weathers in dry air, deliquesces in moist air, and can quickly absorb ammonia when sublimated in a vacuum. It loses part of its crystal water when heated, and completely loses crystal water when it exceeds 140°C to become yellow-brown anhydrous nickel chloride. Easily soluble in water, ethanol and ammonia, the aqueous solution is acidic.
Anhydrous nickel chloride is a yellow solid, mp 1001ºC, d 3.550 g/cm3, soluble in water and alcohol, and insoluble in most organic solvents. Hydrated nickel chloride with crystal water is a green solid.

Usuage

Used for nickel plating, making invisible ink and ammonia absorbent, etc.
It is used in the chemical industry to manufacture various nickel compounds, preservatives and catalysts for chemical reactions, as well as in the manufacture of invisible inks, in the electroplating industry for nickel plating, and in analytical chemistry as analytical reagents. In addition, its anhydrous substance is used as an ammonia absorbent for gas masks. Nickel reagents are toxic and carcinogenic and must be used with caution.
