Calcium hydroxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Ca(OH)2, commonly known as hydrated lime or hydrated lime. When calcium hydroxide is added to water, it is divided into two layers, the upper solution is called clarified lime water, and the lower suspension is called lime milk or lime slurry. The upper layer of clear lime water can test carbon dioxide, and the lower layer of cloudy liquid lime milk is a building material. In addition to being the main material of civil engineering, calcium hydroxide has opened up a variety of uses in many emerging industrial sectors. Such as metallurgy, glass, alkali and sugar making, paper making, leather, calcium carbide and organic chemicals, carbonized bricks, carbonized plates and soil improvement, water treatment, gas purification and other aspects have used a lot of lime. Calcium hydroxide can also be used as raw material for the production of calcium carbonate.
