4. Application Fields and Highlights

Agricultural Field

  • High-Efficiency Fertilizer for Bumper Harvests: As a high-concentration and compound fertilizer, diammonium phosphate is rich in nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients. The nitrogen element promotes the lush growth of crop stems and leaves, enhancing the efficiency of photosynthesis, while the phosphorus element focuses on root development, flower bud differentiation, and fruit quality improvement. In the corn-planting area of the Northeast China Plain, a three-year consecutive comparative experiment was carried out. In the corn fields where our product was used as a base fertilizer (applied at a rate of 40 - 50 kg per mu) and top-dressed during the trumpet stage (applied at a rate of 15 - 20 kg per mu), compared with the control fields that only received ordinary single-element fertilizers, the average yield per mu increased from 1000 kg to 1250 kg, with an increase rate of 25%. Moreover, the corn cobs were full, with bright colors, and the protein and starch content were superior, significantly enhancing the commercial value.
  • Soil Improvement for Optimal Root Conditions: Long-term application can adjust the soil pH value. Particularly for acidic soils, it can neutralize some acidic substances, improve the soil's buffering capacity, and enhance the soil's granular structure, thereby increasing its water and fertilizer retention capabilities and creating a healthy "living environment" for crop roots. For example, in the tea gardens of the red soil area in southern China, after regular application of diammonium phosphate, the soil pH value increased from around 4.5 to 5.5 - 6.0. The tea tree roots grew deeper and more widely distributed, the amount of new shoots increased by 30%, and the tea quality was excellent with a stable yield.

Industrial Field

  • Flame Retardant Pioneer for Safety Assurance: It plays a pivotal role in the synthesis of flame-retardant materials. As the core component of phosphorus-nitrogen-based flame retardants, it decomposes at high temperatures to produce non-combustible gases such as phosphori acid and ammoni a gas. On the one hand, it forms an "oxygen-isolating shield", and on the other hand, it dilutes the concentration of combustible gases. A wire and cable enterprise in the Yangtze River Delta region added a flame retardant containing diammonium phosphate (accounting for 25% - 30% of the composition) to the cable sheath material. As a result, the product's flame retardant rating leaped from UL94 V - 2 to UL94 V - 0, effectively delaying the spread of fire for more than 30 minutes in a fire scenario, significantly enhancing the fire safety factor and meeting the stringent flame retardant requirements of high-end buildings and rail transit facilities.
  • Water Quality Purification for Pollution Removal: In the wastewater treatment process, by cleverly utilizing its complex precipitation characteristics with metal ions, for industrial wastewater containing heavy metal ions such as copper and zinc and high phosphorus content, in a wastewater treatment plant in the western mining concentration area, 80 - 120 grams of diammonium phosphate was added per ton of wastewater in coordination with flocculants. After treatment, the removal rate of heavy metal ions in the wastewater exceeded 95%, and the phosphorus content was reduced to below 0.5 mg/L, achieving standard discharge and alleviating the pressure on the surrounding water environment, thus protecting ecological health.

5. Detailed Usage Methods

Agricultural Fertilization Methods

  • Base Fertilizer Application: Before plowing the land, evenly spread diammonium phosphate on the soil surface at a rate of 40 - 60 kg per mu. Subsequently, use agricultural machinery such as plows and harrows to conduct deep plowing, with a depth controlled within 20 - 30 cm, ensuring that the fertilizer is thoroughly mixed and evenly distributed in the soil, laying a solid nutrient foundation for crop sowing or transplantation.
  • Top-Dressing Operation: Precision top-dressing is carried out according to the critical growth stages of different crops. For example, during the full fruit stage of vegetables, a shallow ditch (with a depth of 5 - 8 cm) is dug in the middle of the row spacing of the plants, and 10 - 20 kg per mu is applied. Then, cover the soil and water immediately to accelerate the dissolution and infiltration of the fertilizer for the crops to absorb and utilize it in a timely manner.

Industrial Application Procedures

  • Flame Retardant Material Preparation: In the processing of flame-retardant products such as plastics and rubbers, first determine the proportion of diammonium phosphate to be added according to the target flame retardant rating of the product. For example, to manufacture B1-level flame-retardant polypropylene plastics, prepare the raw materials by weight, with diammonium phosphate accounting for 20% - 25%. First, pre-mix it with other additives and the polymer matrix in a high-speed mixer (with a rotation speed of 800 - 1200 revolutions per minute) for 5 - 10 minutes, and then conduct melt blending and granulation through a twin-screw extruder, and finally injection mold or compression mold into the flame-retardant finished product.
  • Wastewater Treatment Process: At the industrial wastewater treatment site, first prepare a solution of diammonium phosphate with a concentration of 10% - 15% and place it in the storage tank of the dosing system. Through an automated dosing device, based on real-time water quality monitoring data, accurately add it at the front end of the flocculation reaction tank. At the same time, turn on the stirring equipment (with a rotation speed of 100 - 150 revolutions per minute) and stir for 15 - 20 minutes to promote the formation of precipitates. Subsequently, through precipitation, filtration, and other units, the separation and purification of water and pollutants are achieved.
